About Me

Hi, my name is Opi. I migrated to Australia in 1990 with my parents from beautiful Sri Lanka. I've been blessed to call Melbourne home ever since. At the time, I could barely string a few English sentences together. Yet, through perseverance and embracing the challenges of life as an immigrant, I’ve reached a point where I can now give back to society in my own small way. Historically, this has been volunteering at a homeless shelter with Ozanam House, which is part of St. Vincent. They were so wonderful to my family during the early years, it only made sense to give back with them.

If you ask anyone in Melbourne who knows me casually, they’d probably recognize me as the DJ. That chapter of my life was filled with stories that could captivate anyone for a lifetime. Since then, I’ve built several successful businesses and am now in a position to give back. Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of reading hundreds of self-help, business, and autobiographical books, as well as an eclectic range of other works. This broad exposure has given me the unique ability to know a little about everything.

Some might call me a “Jack of all trades, master of none,” but I’ve come to see this as a strength. As Tim Ferriss often points out, being a generalist can be a superpower. It allows you to connect dots across disciplines and approach problems with a fresh perspective. That’s why these days, I’m driven by my curiosity and love engaging with specialists from all walks of life, trades, and genres. Each conversation keeps my curiosity alive and helps me continue to grow.
