Dominic’s story begins with humble beginnings, where a grade two teacher’s simple gift of a ruler, pencil, and rubber sparked his lifelong passion for drawing and architecture. This passion was nurtured by various mentors throughout his educational journey, leading him to the realization that he wanted to be an architect from a young age. His mentors, especially Louise Speck, played a pivotal role in his life, teaching him not just the skills of the trade but also the importance of giving back.
As an architect, Dominic learned the importance of storytelling, a skill that would later define his success. He believes that every project has a story to tell, and it’s through this narrative that buildings come to life. This approach has not only helped him achieve a 100% success rate in obtaining development approvals but also allowed him to market projects effectively.
In addition to his architectural achievements, Dominic shares a transformative journey in personal development. Like many of us, he was once a fervent consumer of news. However, during the COVID pandemic, he realized the constant flood of negativity was taking a toll on his mental health. Encouraged by his wife, he decided to stop watching the news altogether, a decision he describes as “going cold turkey.” Since 2019, he has dramatically reduced his news consumption, choosing instead to focus on aspects of life he can control.
